What I Learned From 3 Coffee Conversations Last Week...

Leadership insights, agency partnerships and employee content!

This week I want to do something a little different — and take you behind the scenes of a few coffee meetings I’ve had around London last week.

Coffee 1 — Leading a team and aligning to an overall goal

I was at a huge global business in a meeting with one of their VPs. This individual has a team of 40 people across 4 major cities and multiple different parts of the business reporting in. We were chatting about their plans & projects over the next 6 months, and hearing their approach to leadership, strategy, and logistically running huge projects was inspiring. What struck me was how they’re relentlessly asking: (1) understanding the core problem they’re trying to solve that aligns across teams and (2) making sure everything ties back to that core problem statement. It’s always a pleasure to learn from incredible leaders.

Coffee 2 — Going deeper, really listening and becoming a true agency partner

We just signed a FTSE 250 financial services client — an exciting project building out a full LinkedIn strategy across their company page, CEO & wider team. As part of our kick-off, we wanted to really understand what our key contact is looking to get from our work so we really nail the brief. Exceptional work is core to everything Triangle does. That means asking the right questions and taking the time to go deep on what would blow the client away. It’s also a great chance to build that client relationship and become that true long-term agency partner — something else we pride ourselves on.

Coffee 3 — Enterprise demand & the power of employee content

I’ve had a few meetings at LinkedIn’s London office this week — sharing some of the projects we’re working on and what we’re seeing on the platform. Two big topics of conversation. Firstly how we drive enterprise demand for clients (we’ve booked clients meetings with VP-level or above at Snapchat, Nike, Paramount, Mars, Walgreens, Starbucks, GSK and more). Secondly, the power of employee-driven content. And how we’re running strategies and workshops to activate 20%+ of a company’s workforce through our counterintuitive approach that actually gets your teams brought in to become active. Really excited to be at the forefront of this space — more on this over the next month.
